Have you used spaces yet? Or are you still stuck in virtu-desktop.
Leopard brings us virtual desktops through spaces. And of course its setup for 4 spaces. But I am a glutten for punishment so I use 6 and I am thinking about 8.
Of course you can bind apps to these spaces and therefore my usage is below:
1. All things Mail
2. All things IM inclusive of IRC/Adium/colloquy/etc
3. Broswers (Except Safaris which follows me a around
4. All things Word/Authoring
5. All things Java (For now anticipating Sun and Apple get 1.6 on this beast)
6. All things DBA/ruby
Now an interesting thing is how to get an app into a different space than it was launched. For example, space 1 to space 6. Very simple, grab it and drag it to the edge of the screen. If you are on space 1 cruising for space 6 just grab the tool bar and head for the Lower Right corner, hold it. The spaces icon shows the 4 populated and the space moves to , hold it longer space 4 turns to 5 and is indicated in the spaces icon in the middle and hold it further and there you go you sitting in space 6.
Work with it a little, you'll get it!
Enjoy.
