Jeremy Allison resigns from Novell over a perception that Microsoft is a paralizing force on Open Source from the Novell Windows/SUSE agreement.
The problem I see is that Microsoft purchased 350,000 copies of Novell's SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and promised not to sue SUSE users for patent infringement. It's awlful nice of Microsoft to purchase 350,000 copies of SUS Enterprise Server to save the SUSE users from a horrible law suit on the usage of patent infringement.
Nonetheless, Jeremy left Novell and appears to have made his statement and landed in Google.
What is up the Microsoft sleeve?
That was nice of Microsoft, wasn't it. Right after the agreement was signed
(the we won't sue your users for violating our patents); Balmer's mouthing
off about it. This was a bad idea for Novell. Microsoft's entire game plan
is to steal code from open source; Microsoft NEVER does anything that is
not in Microsoft's best interest.
