At first I wanted a Kindle, a Sony reader and than a Kindle and the Nook came out... So, yes, I obsessed and now the iPad. So the iPad has some nice features, no OLED and is definitely the right size for me. Parting with $259.00 for the Kindle and Nook seems unreasonable with iTunes, email, and Apple magic.
True the back lit eats the battery for e-reading, but its BACK LIT. Can read it in the dark eh!?! Now downloading and getting wacked per meg by Amazon and its color matches the Nook.
Of course, I wont by the $500 version Ill be on the high end of the WIFI or WIFI/3G. Im really torn, as we went from $259 to $899. Considering I carry a laptop and I can read KINDLE/NOOK books on my laptop Im trying to understand why buy either device. iPad, to me is great little device, wish it had a scribe like the Apple Newton. Maybe thats my old way of thinking.. But I would probably just mindlessly doodle which is kool way of meditation and focusing on an idea..
Certainly, Nook and Kindle are out of my head now the iPad seems like a win. As I see it, I saved $259.00 and waiting to see the iPad and what is really released in the next 60 days.
I may save $259 today but could spend 900 tomorrow.
We'll see....
