GMAIL & Your Contacts

Gmail apparently has a GMAIl security issue running JavaScript. The flaw allows access to your GMAIL Contact list. The non-malicious link to test for this vulnerability is http://docs.google.com/data/contacts?out=js&show=ALL&psort=Affinity&callback=google&max=99999
Google supposedly fixed it... This is not the first security issue and I am sure it wont be the last.
How's that for opening up the New Year!
My original problem with email was not so much wth secuirty as where my emails wind up. On some server that is supposed to be secure but no matter what the GMail account messages are archived.. And that's the single reason why I stay away from using it as my serious email account.
