Mr Thomas and his team succeed again in a wonderfully written book.  This book gets you running through a Rails Ruby project and working in Agile immediately.  If you are looking to start a project and its strictly interfacing with a database this is a great start.  Ruby is a great langauge and is poised to be the next Java, however, there are issues due to its immaturity.  So be aware of these by understanding RAILS purpose and the solution it provides.

As RUBY grows so will its problems that it attemtps to solve.  This book takes the reader through the project from the beginning to end.  They due a fair amount of explanation when building your database and using rails that its a "RAILS" way of doing things.  You have to stick a stake in the ground in some way and the authors hit the nail on the head.

If you have a hackering for RAILS and you want to learn it through a tangible source, this book is paramount!
